onNote:Playing Printed Music Scores as a Musical Instrument
Yusuke Yamamoto / Hideaki Uchiyama / Yasuaki Kakehi
Music scores are familiar materials to human beings. However, it is a difficult task for beginners to imagine the melody of the scores. With our software named onNote, you can directly play printed music scores. Our equipment is simply composed of a camera and a projector built into a desk lamp. When you put and move a music score under the lamp, the melody of the music score is played.
In this system, the score captured by the camera is retrieved from a music score database. This retrieval method can recognize which a music score in the database is visible and compute the pose of the score with respect to the camera. In the near future, we will adopt the natural manipulations of papers as an input to enhance intuitiveness.
On this website, we introduce and publish our software.
You should try it.
